I LOVE what I do … I mean, I get to uncover family history on Ancestor’s for a living and tell their stories to future generations. I get out into the community and offer courses to help OTHERS get into the world of Genealogy, and I have several courses for absolute beginner Genealogists to Pros so we can all lift one another up through the past and provide the best research possible to keep our ancestor’s alive.
I’ve been a Genealogist for over 20+ years … and to say that I love it… might not even give it enough justice. I love the freedom that I get from the work I do and take so much pride in every research report I compile to ensure that it tells the story to ensure the family has something concrete that can keep being passed down.

Family History
Family History is the study of people, places, objects, traditions and stories that are associated with a family. I love studying the basic facts of direct ancestors’ lives through Genealogy, but I always take my research one step further and find myself thinking about those family stories and what social contexts might have been taking place affecting the events as they were happening.
Historic Preservationist
I am a self-proclaimed history nerd and working with my local Historical Society, I found a passion for looking into the history of my City, building out the notable surnames associated with the homes in the area and having the two stories truly come together in a story about the people and the house.
Genealogy Research
One reason I love Genealogy so much is I get to study a person’s direct-line ancestors (i.e. parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, etc.) to prove descent back in time, generation by generation. A huge part of this important study is having a research report that captures the life and times of an ancestor. I am very meticulous with my Genealogy Research Report Writing and have a unique method that not only tells your ancestor’s story, but prints up great to keep sharing, generation after generation.
BUSINESS Coach
I majored in Business in college and love everything about helping others get started, which is why I created THE GENEALOGY ACADEMY. I wasn’t seeing a program that encompassed it “all” without a lot of “filler” … a kind of out-of-the-box program that showed you HOW to start your Genealogy Business. Family Trees & Charts
While the majority of my clients prefer my Research Report to a family tree or chart option, I love to make families come to life through creative trees and charts. I use Family Trees and Charts to boost my family binders within my own genealogy to help keep the lines together and keep research moving. A Family Tree is a visual representation of a person’s lineage, tracing relationships to common ancestors. They are used and helpful for many reasons!
DNA & Genetic Genealogy
DNA and Genetic Genealogy are the next chapter in the world of Genealogy but once your pay that great price to have your DNA tested and then the results come in… that is when the OVERWHELM sets in. Trying to navigate your way through shared centiMorgans and relationship estimates can be cumbersome. This is when I come in and through consulting, I can help you uncover some of the mystery and organize your DNA Matches in a way that makes them useful.
