Some documents are still unindexed, which means manpower and time restrictions might be presented due to just “not finding” an ancestor. In some areas, records were just NOT kept. I always do my best, as an investigator, to find out WHAT I can about your FAMILY.
However, research into your FAMILY is based on HOURS WORKED and payment is DUE regardless of the results. You will find my rates extremely reasonable to offset some of these circumstances and allow for ala-cart situations to take place to continue researching.

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND…
Federal Censuses are mostly reliable but vary depending on the knowledge of the informant and the care of the census enumerator. Information might have been given to a census taker by any member of the family or even by a neighbor.
Some information can be logged incorrectly or perhaps deliberately falsified. Some people may have changed their age due to circumstances, like marriage or military participation. It’s not uncommon to see woman take off a decade or more from their birth year when looking at their first census to their last. Marriage information is also often falsified to make a baby seem legitimate.
Census takers missed people, misinterpreted people, and were sometimes just not thorough. This can cause some challenges. Ancestors could show a given name in one census, and in the next they are logged by a nickname, middle name, or a completely different spelling.
With each of these issues brings new challenges.
Things to know….
It’s important to understand that you are NOT BUYING a straightforward PRODUCT.
This is due to a variety of reasons, not just the mentioned reason.
Records may be lost, destroyed, not kept, protected by privacy laws and/or other restrictions.
The answers to specific questions are legitimately not available despite a genealogists'‘ best efforts.

It can take years to build a tree in its entirety, especially depending on how far back the expectations are set.
